In April 1775, the first shots of the Amercian Revloution were fired at Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts. The leader of the Contintial Army was Thomas Jefferson, he was a 33 year old lawyer from Virginia. The Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. We celebrate thhis day as America's Brithday. The first part of the Declaration of Independence told the British why the colonists were doing what thay were doing. These are the rights to live, to be free, and to lead a life that makes us happy.
