Boston Tea Party

The British East India Company had controlled all tea taxing between India and the British colonies. As a result of the tea tax, the colonies refused to buy the British tea. Instead, they smuggled tea in from Holland. On the evening of December 16, 1773, a group of men calling themselves Sons of Liberty went to the Boston Harbor. The men wre dressed as Mohawk Indians. They boarded three British ships, the Beaver, the Eleanor and the Dartmouth, and dumped FORTY-FIVE TONS OF TEA into the Boston Harbor.

The Start and the End of the Revolutionary War

The Revolutionary War began in 1776, when the French and Spanish joined the war, and the war ended in October, 1781 when a British General surrendred knowing that the war was over.

Mexican-Amercian War

The Mexican-Amercian War lasted from 1846 to 1848. U.S. forces took control of most of California in 1846. In September 1847, the United States took control of Mexico City.

Benedict Arnold (1741-1801)

Bendict Arnold was born in Connecticut. In the beginning yars of the Amercian Revolution, he served in the Continental Army. Bendict Arnold became bitter when he failed to get a further promotion. He made a secret agreement with the British to hand over the fort at West Point, New York. Bendict Arnold 's treason was discoverd, though. He settled in England after the war.




The War of 1812

For the first thirty years it lived, the young United States  have faced challenges. Some of the most important decisions the early presidents had to make were about foreign policy. In his Farewell Address in 1796, George Washington, the first president, urged Amercian leaders to aviod involment in European affairs and conflicts.

The Declaration of Independence




In April 1775, the first shots of the Amercian Revloution were fired at Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts. The leader of the Contintial Army was Thomas Jefferson, he was a 33 year old lawyer from Virginia. The Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. We celebrate thhis day as America's Brithday. The first part of the Declaration of Independence told the British why the colonists were doing what thay were doing. These are the rights to live, to be free, and to lead a life that makes us happy.

What is the Amercian Revolution


The Amercian Revolution is also known as The Amercian Revolutionary War and The U.S. War of Indepence. French assistance helped the Continential Army force the British to surrender at Yorktown, Virgina in 1779.

When did the amercian revolution start and end

The war was offically ended after the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1783. Some people think the revolution actally started on 1763 when the British defeated the France in the French and Indian war, and some people would say that it is still going on Today.

Major Events of the Revoulotion

Congress appointed George Washington as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army. At first, the revolution did not go well for the patriots. In August 1776, the British forced Washington to retreat at the Battle of Long Island. The British victory meant that they gained control of New York City. In late 1776 and early 1777, however, Washington reversed a string of losses when he won the Battle of Trenton and the Battle of Princeton.

Major Events of the Revoulotion

In early 1775,the British General (Thomas Gage) learned that the colonists had stored a large amount of military supplies at Concord, Massachusetts, about 20 miles from Boston. He also wanted to arrest two leaders of the patriots, people also wanted independence from England. British troops and colonial soldiers clashed at Lexington an then again at Concord on April 19. These battles started the American Revolution.

Amercian Revolution/ Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston on 1706-1790. As a young man he settled in Philadelphia. He was an inventor, scientist, publisher, philosopher, postmaster general, diplomat, and political leader. He served on the committee of Congress to write the Declaration of Independence, and he was also a delegate to the Constitutional Convention in 1787.

Amercian Revolution/ George Washington

Let me tell you a little bit about George Washington. George Washington was born in 1732 in Virginia and died in 1799,Before he died he accomplished a lot of things. Let my tell you what those things are, One thing is that he was the head chief of the Continental Army during the Revolution. He had military experience. As a young man, he had served in the French and Indian War. In 1789, he was elected the first president of the United States.
